Move
Sunday 13th May 4pm-5.30pm
Experiencing our bodies through a subtle but powerful movement practice. All abilities welcome, no dance experience required.
Introducing a series of workshops designed specifically to support the health and well-being of women of African descent.
Within the UK and the diaspora, women of African descent experience disproportionate rates of obesity, cardiovascular disease, fibroids and breast cancer, as well as an increased risk of mental illness.
Historically the African female body has been desexualized, over sexualized, subjected to the status of mammy or jezebel, leaving many women confused about their sexuality, femininity and identity.
The Sister’s Suppers will include a range of workshops to address some of these issues, provide support and uplift us. The evenings will end with delicious vegan food from All Nations Vegan House.
