Beneath The Surface

Harrison's Cave is an underground collection of chambers of stalactite (from the ceiling) and stalagmite (from the ground) rock formations, pools and waterfalls.

The rock formations grow at a rate of approximately 10cm every thousand years or about half the thickness of a piece of paper every year. Over time, the stalactite may grow to meet the stalagmite to form columns.

This really resonated with me, and I reflected on how “slow” the healing process can sometimes feel, particularly our emotional healing journey. Despite what may feel like an agonising, forever and a day path to “healed”, there is beauty and strength to the paths that are forming. Isn't it worth the wait?
