Finding the Balance

Ladybird

Recently I was fortunate to attend a retreat in Bulgaria. Tucked away in the picturesque mountains, it was the perfect setting to take stock of the past few months. With limited internet connection at the retreat, it became difficult to catch up with work emails and tasks and I felt myself getting twitchy.

Retreat

Before I left for Bulgaria I was getting tough on myself for not doing enough every day to grow my business. The more I thought about it, the more anxious I became. My focus became about a lack of something I didn’t have (or my perception of what I didn’t have) instead of focusing on the progress I had made, what was already available to me and the and the many possibilities.

Being away and being disconnected I realised that although I may not have achieved all of my business goals and objectives, I was still moving forward. More importantly, I needed to find the balance between working on my business and giving myself permission to switch off. Allowing moments of nothingness to rejuvenate and allow creativity to flow.
